Lima Track

Privacy policy

Your activities stay on your phone. Lima Track sends anonymous usage statistics and crash reports only if you turn them on.

Last updated 28 October 2026. This policy covers the Lima Track app for iPhone and this website.

Who we are

Lima Track is made by Kostiantyn Medvedenko, who is responsible for the data described here (the data controller). “We” in this policy means him. Contact: [email protected].

Short version

Data that stays on your phone

While you record an activity, Lima Track stores on your phone:

With Health allowed, Lima Track also reads your weight, to estimate the energy of a saved activity, and your workouts, to warn you when your Watch recorded the same activity. It doesn't store those.

Lima Track uses this data only to show your activity, check the GPS signal and rebuild the parts of the route where GPS was lost or spoofed.

Full motion data is kept for 30 days. After that it is replaced by one summary per second; tracks, stats and rebuilt routes stay the same. Deleting an activity in the app deletes all its data from the app. Deleting the app deletes everything it stored. Your phone's own backups (iCloud or computer) include the app's data, as for any app.

Location is used only while you record an activity or check the GPS signal in Settings. Lima Track does not track you in the background otherwise.

Usage statistics and crash reports (optional)

During setup, and later in Settings → Privacy, you can turn on two options. Both are off until you turn them on. They use Google Firebase (Google Analytics for Firebase and Firebase Crashlytics), provided by Google, which processes the data for us.

Share usage statistics

Rough counts that tell us whether Lima Track works: how often GPS was lost or spoofed, which track people save, whether saving to Health fails. Each event carries only categories, never exact values:

WhatSent as
Activity typerun, walk or hike
Durationunder 15 min, 15–30 min, 30–60 min, 1–2 h, 2–4 h, over 4 h
Distanceunder 2 km, 2–5, 5–10, 10–21, 21–42, over 42 km
Share of time with GPS lost, spoofed or weak, or paused0, under 5 %, 5–20 %, 20–50 %, over 50 %
What you savedGPS track, rebuilt track or no track; to Health or as GPX, TCX or FIT; whether it was the recommended one
Setupwhich permissions you allowed (yes/no), these two settings
Errorsan error code when saving to Health fails
Background exitsdaily counts of why iOS ended the app in the background (memory, CPU and so on)
Subscriptionwhere the subscription screen was opened; a purchase started, done or cancelled, with the plan's period (such as monthly) and whether it began with a trial; whether a restore found a subscription

Firebase adds what it collects for every app: a random app instance ID, device model, iOS version, app version, language, a coarse country or region derived from the connection, and when the app was first opened and used. If you'd like the full list of events, write to us.

Share crash reports

When the app crashes or fails to save, Crashlytics sends a technical report: where in the code it happened, the device model, iOS and app version, free memory and storage, a random installation ID, the app's build, the activity type and whether a recording was running. With this setting on, Apple's diagnostic reports about hangs and heavy CPU or disk use are sent the same way.

Never sent

Coordinates, routes, place names, times of day, heart rate or any other Health value, notes, activity IDs, your name, email, or the advertising identifier. Lima Track does not use the advertising identifier at all and never asks to track you. The data is not linked to you and not used for tracking or advertising.

Keeping and deleting

We keep usage events for 2 months (the shortest setting Google Analytics offers) and crash reports for 90 days; Google keeps aggregated reports without the instance ID longer. Turning usage statistics off in Settings → Privacy stops sending and resets the app instance ID, so later data can't be connected to earlier data. Turning crash reports off stops them. Google may process the data outside your country, including in the United States, under the safeguards in Google's data processing terms.

Legal basis (for users in the EU, the UK and similar laws): your consent, which you can withdraw at any time in Settings → Privacy. Because the data is not linked to you, we can't look up yours by name or email; turning usage statistics off is the way to stop and separate it.

Lima Track Pro subscription

Saving the rebuilt track, No track or the GPS track without its lost and spoofed parts, to Health or as a file, needs a Lima Track Pro subscription, bought through the App Store. Apple handles the payment; we never see your name, Apple Account or payment details. To check that a subscription is active, the app uses RevenueCat (RevenueCat, Inc., USA) as our processor. RevenueCat receives the App Store's purchase records (product, dates, price, country, trial and renewal status) and a random ID the app makes on your phone, plus the device type, iOS and app version. It receives no locations, routes, Health data or activity data. The ID isn't linked to your name or email and isn't used for advertising or tracking. Legal basis: performing the contract you entered by subscribing. Purchase records are kept as long as needed for the subscription and as the law requires for accounting. You can ask us to delete them at [email protected]; a subscription itself is cancelled in your Apple Account settings.

Report a problem

Settings → Report a problem opens an email to us, or the share sheet if Mail isn't set up. Before you send it, you can see what it contains: your description, the device model, iOS and app version, your settings in Lima Track, and Apple's diagnostic reports from the last 14 days. You can attach the raw data of one activity; it contains the places you were, so attach it only if you're fine sharing that with us. We use reports only to answer you and fix the problem, don't share them, and delete them once the problem is solved.

This website

limatrack.com has no cookies and no trackers. To count visits it uses Cloudflare Web Analytics (Cloudflare, Inc., USA) as our processor: a small script from Cloudflare reports the page, the site you came from, your browser and device type, and your country. It stores nothing on your device, doesn't fingerprint you and doesn't follow you across sites; we see only totals, never individual visitors. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in knowing which pages people read. The web host keeps standard server logs (IP address, page, time) for security, as any web server does.

Children

Lima Track is not directed at children under 13 and collects nothing that would identify them.

Changes

If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top. If a change sends anything new from your phone, the app will ask you again first.
